Connor Williams is entering his junior wrestling season for Central High School on a good note.
So is Holmen sophomore Tanner Schultz, for that matter.
Williams and Schultz won championships in Saturday’s Trackwrestling Preseason Championships at the La Crosse Center.
Williams had three pins and a major decision, finishing his 171-pound championship match at the 2-minute, 53-second mark.
Schultz pinned two straight opponents before shutting out his opponent at 130.
Both will officially begin the new season with opening practices today, and Williams said the victory on Saturday gave him some momentum.
