Jordan and Medbery selected as NWCA All-Stars
Seniors are first honorees for Wisconsin since 2008

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin seniors Isaac Jordan and Connor Medbery have already established themselves as elite members of the Wisconsin wrestling program. On the brink of a new season, the two returning All-Americans have been invited to compete in the National Wrestling Coaches’ Association All-Star Classic.

On Wednesday, the NWCA announced the lineups for the 2016 NWCA All-Star Classic, which will be held on Nov. 5 in Cleveland, Ohio. The NWCA All-Star Classic is hosted by Wrestlers in Business Network and brings 20 of collegiate wrestling’s finest contenders together in one place.

Jordan and Medbery become the 21st and 22nd all-time UW selections to compete as NWCA All-Stars. It’s just the fourth time in program history that Wisconsin has had multiple invitees in one year and the first time more than one Badger has been invited since 1980.

Medbery is just the second UW heavyweight to be chosen for this prestigious event. The first was Kyle Massey in 2008, who was Wisconsin’s last NWCA All-Star.

Jordan is also just the second 165-pounder to compete in the NWCA All-Star Classic for Wisconsin. Donny Pritzlaff, a two-time NCAA title holder, is the only other representative of the 165-pound class in UW history.

Jordan is set to take on Missouri’s Daniel Lewis at 165 pounds, while Medbery will face Virginia Tech’s Ty Walz in the heavyweight bout.
