Kimberly 2nd at 2015 Mukwonago Duals
Kimberly wrestlers braved the snow covered roads to travel to Mukwonago to compete in the 2015 Mukwonago Duals. Hard work in the wrestling room shows it pays off as Kimberly went 4-1 at the tournament. Their only loss was to a very strong Mukwonago team.
The Papermakers defeated Hamilton (46-28), Badger (71-6) and Kenosha Bradford (29-27) to win their pool and advance to the championship bracket.
In the championship bracket Kimberly first faced Greenfield. Greenfield was leading 27-18 after nine matches and it looked like Greenfield would win the dual. Greenfield had defeated Kimberly’s 120 and 126 wrestlers earlier in the year at the Papermaker Invite. But Kimberly’s Kaide Pope (120) and Hunter Bruecker (126) stepped up to the challenge and soundly defeated their opponents from Greenfield to give the Papermakers a chance to win the match-up. Seth Christman (132) and Drosianos Lovaris (138) sealed the win with pins against their opponents. The Papermakers defeated Greenfield 36-31.
The Papermakers faced Mukwonago in the finals and came up short in the final matchup of the day.
All Kimberly wrestlers competed well at the duals – 4 Papermakers went 5-0 for the day. Individual results are as follows:
113 – Talen Weinzetl went 2-3
