Wisconsin Cadets to Watch at Fargo

Hunter Lewis (2nd year cadet) 113 pounds. Probably the most experienced wrestler in the state in Freestyle & Greco with scores of overseas training trips, look for Lewis to be in one of the top 3-spots in both styles. After an impressive performance at the UWW tournament, Lewis earned a spot-on USA Wrestling’s national Pan Am team set to compete in Argentina in early July.

Aidan Nutter (1st year cadet) 120 pounds. Nutter has put himself in the spotlight with some recent big wins including beating former Greco World Team member and state champion Eric Barnett. Aidan is a man on a mission and proved he can compete with the best of them. Although he might be a bit outgunned as a first-year cadet, keep an eye on him.

Keegan O’Toole (2nd year cadet) 126 pounds. High school freshman, O’Toole surprised the state with his win over Tristan Jenny in the Wisconsin state finals. He’s no newcomer to the national scene with last year placing 7th in Freestyle at Fargo. After an injury at Northern Plains, he was benched for a few weeks and missed out on the UWW tournament but we expect him to make a strong showing this year at Fargo. O’Toole is one of the many tough contenders in this loaded weight class.

Joey Bianchi (2nd year cadet) 126 pounds. Bianchi has wrestling in his blood. He’s proven himself time and time again as an excellent wrestler and has picked off many top tier opponents during his wrestling career. Expect to see Bianchi hitting the podium in at least one style this tournament.

Aidan Medora (2nd year cadet) 132 pounds. Medora always shows up ready to battle. At the Northern Plains Freestyle tournament, he walked right through his competition pinning Minnesota’s up and coming wrestler Charlie Pickell. Another tough Minnesota wrestler, Nick Dunagan, was able to score a few points on him but Medora proved his true grit by tech falling him, 18-8.

Josh Otto (2nd year cadet) 152 pounds. Otto is another contender to keep an eye on. Each year he climbs a bit higher on the podium but seems to be a point or two away from reaching the top. Although he often competes in both styles and does well at both Greco and Freestyle, look for him on the podium in Freestyle.

Tyler Hannah (1st year cadet) 170 pounds. Hannah or as his fans and friends call him, Truck, will be a tough obstacle for anyone trying to climb the podium. Hannah is a former USA Wrestling Pan Am member and is a beast at Greco. He struggled with a couple opponents at Northern Plains but has proven time and time again, he’s up for the battle. Look for Hannah to do better in Greco but don’t be surprised if he knocks off some top-notch Freestyle opponents as well.

Some other Wisconsin wrestlers to keep an eye out for is Aaron Bahr, Blaine Brenner and Jalen Spuhler. All have proven themselves as being tough on the mat but haven’t had any big wins lately. If the stars are aligned these wrestlers have the potential for some big wins at Fargo.
