Badger Wrestling Friends,

This past weekend your Wisconsin Badger Wrestling team competed in the Big Ten tournament.  As always there was some great wrestling on display at the toughest conference tournament in the country.  The Big Ten is the nations premier conference, that was made obvious this past weekend in Bloomington, Indiana.  Our team experienced some high points, some tough losses and everything in between.  At the end of the day we have NINE Badger wrestlers moving onto the NCAA Championships.

Connor Medbery led the way with a 2nd place finish.  Connor was part of the featured matchup between two undefeated heavyweights.  The match didnt disappoint as both wrestlers showed uncanny athleticism and power.  Olympic Gold medalist Kyle Snyder of Ohio State ended up with the 8-5 victory.  We know Connor can flip the script in two weeks and are excited for a possible rematch! Isaac Jordan finished fourth after a tough semifinals loss.  Isaac got called for stalling with two seconds left on the clock to give Logan Massa a one-point victory.  Zeke now looks to the NCAA tournament to finish off his career as a national champion.  Ricky Robertson finish 5th, Ryan Christensen 6th, and two freshman made the stand with Cole Martin placing 7th and Hunter Ritter 8th.

Andrew Crone, TJ Ruschell and Johnny Jimenez all didnt have the Big Ten tournament they wanted but due to having good seasons they all qualified for the NCAA tournament.  Theres no doubt that all three of these guys will be a force in St. Louis and can end up on the stand there!

Eli Stickley wrestled his last match of his freshman season at the big ten tournament.  He put himself in position to win in the qualifying match but just came up short in overtime.  Eli is a young man who works his tale off, is very talented, and will finish his career with some great accolades when all is said and done.  We are proud of him.  If our sport gave out placings based on who deserved, it Eli wouldve placed much higher and punched a ticket to the NCAAs.  Life however doesnt always repay people for what they deserve. We need to make the most out of our circumstances and opportunities.  Its a great life lesson that will hopefully make us a better and stronger team, make the most of the opportunity given to you!

We still have NCAA tickets for sale if youd like to make the trip the St. Louis here is a link to get tickets in the Badger section.

Wed love to see lots of Red in the stands!

Thanks for your support! The brackets will be released tomorrow so we will know our match ups and draws then.

Have a great week! On Wisconsin!
