Tuesdays with Barry (10/14/15)

Tuesdays with Barry (10/14/15)

To Alumni, Friends and Family,

Time to Wrestle

The season is almost upon us with the Red/White wrestle-offs next Saturday. The match will begin at 4pm. All next week we will announce the matchups (two weights each day) on uwbadgers.com which will also be covered at wisconsinwrestlingnetwork.com. Come join us at the Fieldhouse on the 24th. We will have a social at the Red Zone following the matches.

ESPN 30 for 30

Next Tuesday, October 20, ESPN will be presenting a 30 for 30 documentary called “The Prince of Pennsylvania”. This is the story of John DuPont and Foxcatcher. The “Farm” was the best place in the world to train in the late 80’s to the mid 90’s. Most people don’t know much about Mark Schultz, Dave Schultz and DuPont and this program will shed some light on their lives. It appears, based on the attached information, that the Director of this documentary will be objective in telling the story. DuPont was a troubled individual that had done many good deeds for the sport of wrestling and for many individuals. He was also responsible for taking the life of one of the greatest individuals wrestling has seen. There are several ties to the Foxcatcher training site and the UW program through Dave, John Giura, Matt Demaray and Mitch Hull.
