Just as we did last season, we are going to let the fans pick the wrestler
of the week. Our weeks will start on Monday and end on Sunday. We then
will give you guys a few days or so to send in nominations then begin the
voting. When sending in nominations, please state why they deserve to be
the wrestler of the week, who they beat, and when/where at. The voting
will usually begin on Wednesday or Thursday and end on Sunday Night. If
you would like to make a nomination for the following week, please send an

Week 7 (1/16/06 – 1/22/06) Wrestler of the week
Cody Friemoth, Neillsville, 140, 10
Cody defeated Sparta’s Jared Rickert, the number five ranked 140-pounder
in division one, by a score of 11-2 in the championship round of the
Sparta Invitational. Cody is now 33-0 on the season.
Other Nominees:
Josh Dunn, Brown Deer, 189, 12
Last Friday, Josh went 5-0 with 3 pins at the Homestead Duals. Included in
those wins was a victory at 215 pounds versus Racine St. Catherine’s Jon
Flancher, the 5th ranked 215-pounder in division two. Josh is currently
ranked 3rd in division two.
Les Cornette, Green Bay West/Southwest, 135, 12
Les earned his 150th career victory last week. Les is currently ranked 2nd
in division one.
Tony Stoeger, Kewaunee, 135, 12
Tony defeated West De Pere’s Tony Kazik, the number one ranked 135-pounder
in division two, in a dual at the West De Pere duals last weekend. Tony
entered the bout ranked 7th in division two at 135 pounds. |
