Pictures from the championship matches at WIAA sectional held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009
at Waukesha West High School.

Oconomowoc freshman Taylor Mommaerts defeated Brookfield East sophomore Justin Wolfenden, 5-0, in a wrestle-back to punch his ticket to the WIAA state individual tournament.  The Raccoon battles at 125 pounds.
Freshman Derek Gill from Burlington, in gray, defeated freshman Justin Scherkenbach of Muskego 9-3 at the 103 pound weight division.
Junior Zach Mommaerts of Oconomowoc, in control, defeated freshman Taylor French from Elkhorn 5-3 for the 112 pound championship.
At 119 pounds Tyler Quartullo, a sophomore from Muskego defeated Elkhorn sophomore Ryan Slack 10-8 in overtime.
Zach Brucker, a sophomore from New Berlin Eisenhower, in yellow, pinned sophomore Justin Wolfenden of Brookfield East just four seconds before the end of the first overtime. The stick came at 6:56 in the 125 pound bout.
At 130 pounds Mukwonago junior Nick Benn defeated Waukesha West sophomore Seth Gantz 7-3.
Mukwonago senior Pat Sloan earned the championship at 140 pounds when he defeated Oconomowoc senior Tyler Swanson 9-4 at 140 pounds.
At 145 pounds senior Zack Sines of Brookfield East had his ticket punched to state with a 7-3 win over senior Ryan Smith of Fort Atkinson. The Spartan won 7-3.
Derek Olson of Muskego defeated junior Justin McFarland of Watertown with a 11-2 major decision.
At 160 pounds senior Kevyn Dusing of Mukwonago bested senior Grant Daniels with a 12-3 major decision.
Roland Dunlap, a freshman from Muskego defeated senior Richard Kessler of Elkhorn 7-5 in overtime. The 171 pounders came into the championship bout with 76 wins and one loss between them..
At 189 pounds freshman Jordan Gruettner of Muskego pinned senior Jake Dostalek of Waterford at 3:28 to take the gold medal and a trip to state.
Senior Joe Fletcher of Waukesha South, in red, improved his record to 36-4 as he defeated senior Bernie Tamsett, 3-2, for the 215 pound title.
Muskego senior Kyle Costigan defeated senior Glen Kendl of Wauwatosa East/West 3-2 for the heavyweight title.
At 135 pounds Nick Jazdzewski, a junior from Burlington defeated senior Kerry Hartenstein of Mukwonago on a major decision 9-1.
Watertown coaches check the knee of junior Justin McFarland which got dinged during his quest for a trip to WIAA state. McFarland won his first match over junior Kyle Zimmerman of Waukesha West on a technical fall and then made it to the championship bout. However a defeat there by Derek Olson of Muskego placed him in a wrestle-back. The Gosling was forced into overtime before his trip to Madison was secure.
