Don't Underestimate a Wrestler
Don't Underestimate a Wrestler
By Jim Lehman
Back in the day my father, Greg Lehman, was a great wrestler.
(He still is) He was a proud athletic asset to East Troy's High
School. Greg was not the most popular wrestler, he caused many
upsets. As a matter of fact he was the most underrated wrestler
in his whole conference. Going into the conference tournament
Greg caused a major upset by defeating the wrestler who everyone
planned on being the champ. No one thought that Greg would win,
except himself. Even though the conference tournament is not
connected to the state tournament, after Greg's win people
turned their heads on him for state champion. Sadly, although
had beaten the best, Greg did not become conference champ or
Even go to state because during Greg's next match he broke his
hand in such a way that he could not wrestle. Everything he had
worked for in his high school career was shattered and he was
forgotten. But in his heart he knew how good he was and he
didn't need someone to tell him or an award to show for it.
