This is not always an easy thing to do.

You have to beat the guys you have beaten or get revenge on them.

Let’s say you win one of these. Only forty five other wrestlers, at your weight class, will be able to call themselves “conference champion”.

When you think about it, it’s not nearly as important as “regionals”. 

With the exception of one or two teams, all the teams in my local conference are in the same regional  Which makes it important to beat them, in conference, so you can get a better seed at regional. 

If you lost earlier in the year to one of these kids, at a dual or tournament and he is in your conference, he will probably be seeded ahead of you.

I think the WIAA should change the regional around so it is not the same teams at conference as it is at the regional.
