| "16 Man Brackets for Division 2 and 3 at
State" Well, if you’d like to see more competition, this is the way to
do it. Just like Division 1 does, with a “16-man format”.
It would be easy, as all you’d have to do is take the top four from
each sectional.
You are probably wondering how this will work with the time schedule?
To explain, I wrote one up.
Thursday “preliminaries” start at noon with Division 1 on mats one and
two, Division 2 on mats three and four, Division 3 on mats five and six.
Thursday evening “quarterfinals” start at 4:00pm running all three
Divisions on the same mats. Friday “wrestle backs” begin with Division 1
at 10:00am, Division 2 at 12:30pm, and Division 3 at 3:00pm. “Semi’s”
begin Friday at 7:30pm on the same mats as before. Saturday “wrestle
backs” to get in the fifth place matches start at 11:00am on the usual
mats. Saturday afternoon 3rd and 5th place matches on the usual mats. At
6:40pm hold the "parade of champions" and at 7:00pm the finals.
For example, the "A" bracket in Division 3 would be as follows: From
the Dodgeland sectional; 1st place Random Lake, 2nd Marshall, 3rd
Cambridge, 4th North Fond Du Lac. From the Edgar sectional; 1st place
Wrightstown, 2nd place Little Wolf, 3rd place Florence, 4th place Bonduel.
From the Mineral Point sectional; 1st place Ithaca, 2nd place Cashton, 3rd
place Brookwood, 4th place Mineral point. From the Somerset sectional; 1st
place Shell Lake, 2nd place Saint Croix Falls, 3rd place Cadott, 4th place
Arcadia. As far as seeding goes 1st gets 4th, 2nd gets 3rd lined up on
opposite sides of the bracket.
This, in my mind, is a great idea for more wrestling and action.
I would like to see this happen in the very near future. |
