Seeding at State "NO"
To me the worst possible thing to do would be to seed state. As much as
some people are pulling for it, it’s an awful idea. In a way it is
seeded, the number 1 from sectional gets a number 2 and that’s good
enough or a 2 gets a three. It would also take a way from the excitement
of the tournament. I mean yeah if you have two returning state champs in
the same bracket, you would love to see them in the finals. That’s the
one situation I would agree with. But if your kid's at state he is
obviously one of the best there. So shouldn’t he be able to wrestle the
best and beat the best. And 99% of the time the state final match could
go either way, also the semis and a lot of the time even the quarter
final matches, so what are you seeding? It’s the state tournament,
everyone is tough as everyone else in the bracket, so you can’t seed.
