SOMERS, Wis. (Dec. 2, 2015)– The NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association released its first regular season installment of the Top 20 Poll on Wednesday with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside occupying the No. 17 spot. The Rangers additionally have two grapplers appear in the individual weight class rankings.
The Rangers accumulated 37 points in the first regular season poll, dipping one spot from its preseason rankings to 17th. Maryville University remains a unanimous No.1 with 160 points and all eight first place votes while Saint Cloud State University holds on to the No. 2 spot with 151 points. The University of Nebraska=Kearney is third with 141 points with Mercyhurst University (138 points) and Notre Dame College (123 points) rounding out the top five.
Individually, both Ronzel Darling and Nick Fishback appear in the top eight rankings for their respective weight class. Darling, a 125-pounder, sits eighth in his weight class while Fishback ranks seventh among 165-pounders.
The Rangers are back on the mat on Thursday night, battling the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in a dual before hosting the 44th annual Wisconsin Open on Saturday.

Parkside Rangers 5th in Super Region Poll | 12/1/2015
SOMERS, Wis. (Dec. 1, 2015)– The Division II Wrestling Coaches Association released its first regular season installment of the Super Region rankings on Tuesday with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside ranking fifth in Super Region II. The Rangers additionally have seven student-athletes appear in the individual weight class rankings.
UW-Parkside sinks two spots its preseason rank to fifth in Super Region II. Lake Erie College climbs into the No. 1 spot, replacing Newberry College who falls to No. 3. The University of Findlay is second while Tiffin University is fourth to round out the top five.
Individually, Ronzel Darling (125-pounds), Joseph Her (133-pounds), and Nick Fishback (165-pounds) all remain No. 2 in their respective weight classes while Matt Halverson remains third at 285-pounds. Nick Becker climbs up two spots at 174-pounds to fourth while Adam Yde (fourth at 141-pounds) and Brett Scoles (5th at 157-pounds) maintain their preseason position at their individual weight classes.
The Rangers host the 44th annual Wisconsin Open on Saturday inside Petretti Fieldhouse with action getting underway at 9 a.m.
