UW La Crosse "News and Notes" Updates Monday, May 7, 2007

  1. Andy Moore( FR. 197#) finished 3rd this past weekend at the Northern Plains Regional Greco Tournament. In the 3rd place match he defeated 2x All-American Alaino Djoumessi who competed at Wartburg College.(I loved that match)

  2. Also competing at the Northern Plains Regional was Ryan Farwell (Fr. 149#) finished 5th place and Danny Crone (Fr. 141#) and Patrick Taylor (Fr. 157#) also competed but did not place. This is a very tough tournament that was mostly Division 1 guys and our young men represented UWL very well.

  3. We had our first annual golf outing this past weekend and it was a blast, we only had 21 golfers, but it was great to see some of the alumni and parents compete for the prestigious title of “UWL Golf Champ”. We will have this tournament every year and we are setting the date as the first weekend in June every year. More later.

  4. Coaching changes. Jason Lulloff and Josh Passe will be joining our staff next year along with Derek Fulsang. Derek graduated from Coe College and was their varsity 125# wrestler. He will be attending graduate school. Also joining us is Tony Beardsley from Montana. Tony is a high school coach and will be in grad school also.

  5. This summer we have 15 guys staying to workout and work in the community. The dedication and changes are going on here and I am looking forward to the rewards that it brings.

Enjoy your summer and I am looking forward to next year already.
