SOMERS, Wis. (Jan. 19, 2016)– The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its Wrestler of the Week award on
Tuesday afternoon with University of Wisconsin-Parkside 184-pounder Montrail Johnson landing the honor for
his performance at Saturday’s Ranger Duals.

UW Pointers win Al Hanke Invitational behind four titlists and threerunners-up
ELMHURST, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team had four individual champions and three runners-up to win the 2016 Al Hanke Invitational
on Saturday.

Ben Vosters (Hatley, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood), Joe Crook (Spring Green, WI/River Valley), Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) and Bo Seibel (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum) won their weightclasses for UW-Stevens Point, while Jared Kust (Shawano, WI/Shawano), Boone Roycraft (Omro, WI/Winneconne) and Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst) finished second.

UW La Crosse Remains Undefeated at Home with Win over UW-Platteville
La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse wrestling team improved to 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with a 29-15 win over UW-Platteville Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. It is UWL’s ninth straight win over UW-Platteville. The Eagles, fifth in this week’s National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Rankings, are now 6-0 at home this season. UW-Platteville falls to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the WIAC.

Parkside Takes Two at Ranger Duals

Somers, Wis. (Jan. 16, 2016)– The University of Wisconsin-Parkside wrestling squad squared up against three nationally ranked teams on Saturday at the Ranger Duals inside the Petretti Fieldhouse. The Rangers started off the day with a 28-15 win over twelfth-ranked University of Tiffin. In their second matchup of the day, UW-Parkside fell to second-ranked St. Cloud State University 25-15. The Rangers finished off their day with a 27-13 victory over fourteenth-ranked University of Findlay.

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Despite sending just seven wrestlers to compete Lakeland College got considerable bang for its buck with five wrestlers placing at the Cornell College Matman Invitational.
Highlighted by a third-place finish by Eddie Terres (Sr.-Escanaba, Mich.) at 197 pounds, the Muskies recorded four top-eight finishes at the 38th edition of the event to place sixth of 16 teams in the final standings. Lakeland finished with 52.5 points, placing in the top half of an event that was won by Wartburg (Iowa) College with 173.5 points.

University of Findlay goes 1-2 in Wisconsin

KENOSHA, Wisconsin — The University of Findlay wrestlers Nick Goebel (149) and Joey White (157) both went 3-0 to lead the Roughnecks to a 1-2
record at Saturday’s Ranger Duals at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Roughnecks, who are now 2-4 in dual matches, lost their first matchup with Augustana (18-15). They rebounded to beat McKendree (25-12)
before falling to host Wisconsin-Parkside (27-13).
Nic Skonieczny (165) finished with a 2-1 record for Findlay.
