Who introduced you to wrestling?
My dad (Scott Thurber) Head Coach
Who has had the biggest influence on your wrestling career?
My dad and Alyssa Lampe
What would you like to say to them?
I would thank them for getting me into such a wonderful sport. I will like to give a special thanks to my dad for training me for years on end. Also thanks to my dad for the many days of hard practice. I would like to thank my whole family for taking time to take me out of state to wrestle, and for sacrificing so much for me to wrestle. “Dad, I’ll miss you as a coach, you have been the greatest coach I have ever had!”
What is your favorite part of wrestling?
I would have to say everything, there is not one part about the sport I don’t enjoy.
What is your most memorable moment in wrestling?
When I won the conference tournament, and everyone there gave me a standing ovation, it was only topped by my dad, when he presented me with the bracket and hugged me.
What will you miss the most about wrestling?
My dad being my coach. He always pushes me to make me a better wrestler and I feel like he knows me better than any other coach I may have had.
What advice do you have for young female wrestlers?
Stay strong and work hard, just because your in a male dominant sport does not mean you should give up easily. Wrestle just as hard as the guys everyday and it will show in the end. Don’t give up when guys are mean to you, just push through it.
