Time Schedule
Weigh-Ins to begin at 8:30 A.M.
Preliminaries to begin approximately at 9:30 A.M.
Quarter-Finals to begin approximately 15 minutes after Preliminaries
Semi-Finals to begin approximately 15 minutes after completion of Quarter Finals.
Championship, Third, Fifth and Seventh Place matches will begin 15 minutes after Semi-Finals
& will be wrestled at the same time in the same weight class. We will wrestle on four mats all day.
ENTRY FEE: $130.00 – Please send this fee in advance. Deadline to send in payment or contracts is December 1, 2009
We will be using Track Wrestling and will receive your user name and password once the schools are entered into the system.
SEEDING: Seeding will be done in accordance with the rules and guidelines in the Bay Conference By-Laws and WIAA seeding procedures.
WEIGH-INS: 8:30am. Weigh-Ins will be conducted in the Wrestling room. There will be signs to help direct you.
COACHES MEETING: Coaches meeting will be held in room 508. Coaches meeting to start right after weigh-ins have been completed.
OFFICIALS: Bruce Shefchik, John Shefchik, Brett Van Vooren, Michael Arendt & Rory Leja
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Bellin Health Sports Medicine will be providing an athletic trainer.
A training room will be available for ice, taping, etc.
TICKETS: Tickets for the days’ activities will be sold in the Commons area.
Prices: Adults - $6.00
Students - $3.00
No passes will be accepted
AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to the first through third place finishers. Trophies will be given to
the 1st and 2nd place teams as well as to the Outstanding Wrestler.

Wrestling Begins: Immediately Following the Bracketing of the Weights
Divisions: Kindergarten / 1st - 2nd (Non-Competitive) / 3rd - 4th / 5th - 6th
Entry Fee: $10 fee and parental permission slip
(no preregistration and no card is required)
Spectator Fee: Adults $2, Children and Students Free
Concessions: Hot food and snacks will be served throughout the tournament.
Medical Personnel: The First Responders will be on duty throughout the tournament.
Awards: K-2 medals/ 3-6 trophies for first and medals for third through fourth
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Grades K - 2 1) Wrestlers will be organized in a 4-man bracket. If the bracket has four wrestlers, each wrestler will be guaranteed three matches.
2) Each match will consist of three one-minute period.
3) Wrestlers will remain on the same mat for the entire tournament.
No Tears Format - No match score will be kept for these bouts, and all wrestlers will receive a wrestling medal at the completion of the bracket.
Grades 3 - 6 1) Wrestlers will be bracketed in a 4-man round robin format.
2) Each match will consist of three one-minute periods.
3) Each period will begin with the wrestlers on their feet.
4) Trophies will be awarded for first place and medals will be awarded for second through fourth place.
5) Ties will be decided on the basis of the wrestler who scored the first points in the match.
No Headlock Rule for Grades K - 6: Headlocks used as a takedown or as a pinning combination will be treated as a potentially dangerous hold. If a wrestler uses the position on his feet, the match will be stopped then restarted. If a wrestler is in a pinning combination and the maneuver ends up in a headlock position, pin points will be awarded (so long as pinning criteria has been met) and the wrestlers will be restarted from the down position.

PRICE: Includes up to 21 wrestlers and 2 coaches. Additional coaches will have to pay regular admission.
ONLY 2 Coaches Per mat. Parents must remain in the stands.

Weights: A team will have 16 weights and up to 5 alternates
Weights are as follows:
50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 160 + (10 Lb Allowance)
Grades: K-8th grade. MN residents can use there 7th and 8th graders if eligible.
Divisions: Division I: School Division: This is open to any School who only pulls from there district. We do understand that there are smaller area's that can't make a full team. We leave the option to pull 2 kids not from your regular team to fill out your roster. This is ONLY for teams that need it. The members will be known to every team. Anymore then 2 will be disqualification from the tournament with no refund.
Division II: Elite Division: This is open to any team that pulls from any location in the town they practice in and surrounding area's. The Elite division must use the people they have from there everyday roster. It will be a disqualification without refund if a kid from another team is found on the roster.
Moving up: Any wrestler other then 160+ can move up 1 weight class during the duals
Example: If Johnny weighs in at 81 Lb. he will wrestle the 85 Lb. weight class. Johnny can go up and wrestle at 90 Lb. but no higher then 90 Lbs.
Brackets: Pool style, and then Bracket Play (double Elimination)
Pool Size will be determined once teams are final.
Awards: #1 of course will be the "HOT DOG" Trophy!! The team that eats the most Dogs win!
Top 3 teams in Each Division will get trophies, and each member will get medals
We will give a MVW award to 1 wrestler in each division (voted by the coaches)
ULTIMATE CHAMPIONSHIP:
The final Match of the weekend! The Champion from the School Division vs. the Elite Division will go for the Ultimate Championship.
The Division Championships and Ultimate Championship will be wrestled in 1 gym under the lights.
Alternate Tourney: This will be held on Sunday morning before the team duals. We try to make this a total team event, including the kids not on the Dual Team. This will only be open to the Alternates and wrestlers who come with but not wrestling on the dual team.
COST:
$5.00 per wrestler.
**Weigh-ins will be on the honor system. The Coach must submit team members, weights, and grade by Jan 20th . Brackets will be 4-6 man round robin. 1st-4th place wrestlers in each bracket will get medals, and 5th-6th will get ribbons. Brackets will be posted on Saturday during the Duals

Due to space limitations, there will be a limit to the first 375 wrestlers
The Pre-registration entry fee is $12.00 per wrestler.
Entry fee at door will be $15.00. Entry fee must be returned with signed parent permission slip.
The tournament will be open to all Kindergarten to 8th grade wrestlers and will be held at Denmark High School. Five Divisions will be utilized: K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. In the event a match can not be scheduled within the correct division we will be contacting the coach or the parents and we will try to make arrangements.
Class will be determined after weigh-ins. Weigh-ins are scheduled for:

Saturday, January 23, 2010 7:00 am to 8:30 am -- sharp!!!
Team Trophies entry fee is $15.00 per team.
A team consists of 10 wrestlers. A wrestler can only be on one team. Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 4th Place.
1st Place Team & 2nd Place Teams with also received individual trophies as well as the team trophy.
A concessions stand will be open throughout the tournament.
Denmark High School and Denmark Wrestling Club is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment.
Each Wrestler must provide their own equipment. Headgear is recommended.
Any wrestler found in a restricted area, damaging property, creating a disturbance, or exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct will be disqualified and ask to leave the premises. Per school policy, no food or beverages will be allowed in gyms. No Smoking on school property.

Kindergarten-2nd Grade Non-Competitive Matches
All matches will consist of two one-minute periods. Each period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral
position. No score will be kept, and no pin will be called. If a wrestler is held on his back, the referee will stop the
match and both wrestlers will continue from their feet. Both wrestlers will have their hands raised at the end of the match.
Grades K-2 Matches
All matches will consist of three one-minute periods. Each period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral
position. OVERTIME: One period from the neutral position. The first person to score will be declared the winner.
Grades 3rd – 8th Grade - W.I.A.A. Rules (Wrestlers will have choice of position in second/third period)

The goal of this event is to give new wrestlers exposure to youth wrestling tournament format without the pressure of competing against experienced wrestlers. We are encouraging those club members who typically don’t go to tournaments. It does not have to be the wrestlers’ first year, but the wrestler should not have tournament experience. A coach’s signature from the wrestler’s home club is required on the application.

• Each team must provide a table worker for each dual.

Tournament weigh-ins at Parker H.S. (3125 Mineral Point, Janesville, WI 53548):
Saturday, January 30th (6 – 8 pm) or Sunday, January 31st (7 – 8 am).
Tournament to start no later than 10 am.
Concession stand to open at 7:30 am Sunday.
Strict ‘one parent and a coach mat side’ rule will be enforced.
USA cards are required and will be available at the door for purchase. Birth certificate is required to purchase a USA Card!

Wisconsin High School Rules will be used
• Maximum of 12 teams. WE WILL BE USING 2 GYMS THIS YEAR.
• School teams only. Two (2) wrestlers from other clubs may be added to fill empty weights if one is not available from your own club. If a club needs to use more than 2 wrestlers from another club this must be approved by tournament director (Chris Martin) by January 25th .
• Format will be Pool Round Robin to Championship Pool
• Each team will be guaranteed 3 dual meets
• Match length: 2-1-1 - Overtime (same as high school)
• 3 coaches per team allowed mat side.
• Line up due by January 25th, each team will be allowed 6 alternates. We will use furnished line-ups for printed programs.
• Exhibition matches for alternates when available.

Format/Awards: Round Robin with four man brackets
Each wrestler will wrestle 3 times if brackets are full.
1st Place – Trophy // 2nd - 4th medals // NO TEAM TROPHIES
Concessions will be put on by our wrestling club.
We will have pizza, subs, hot dogs, chips, candy, etc.
Adult admission will be $2 students will be $1
Kids six and under free
Divisions: Pre-k-k, 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th as long as weighs are close.
All matches will be 3 one min. periods. All periods will start from the neutral position.
Overtime will be an extra one minute period first to score wins, if no score it ends in a tie.
