NOTE FROM STILLWATER (1-14-2009)
We are going to allow clubs to weigh in at home again this year. The head club coach must submit the name, weights, grade and ability level by 9:00 pm Saturday January 17th to PonyWrestling@Yahoo.com . However, this year the coach is responsible for the entries of every wrestler submitted. Coaches must bring a check to registration no later than 10:30 AM on Sunday morning! Last year we had six wrestlers not show up. This year, the coach is responsible for all entry fees submitted.
Yes, we are bracketing the "Advanced" Divisions into 8-Man brackets. The top 4 in these brackets will receive medals.
"Intermediate" and "Beginners" will be in 4-Man round robin brackets. A "Beginner" is just that, a first year wrestler. This ran very smoothly last year as the clubs policed this very well.....it is a small world. Our tournament is a very good tournament to bring your beginner wrestlers!
Last year we had over 600 wrestlers from 5 states and by all indications we should have similar turn out again this year! Last year we started at 11:30 am and the last match started at 3:00 pm. We have a very large facility at Stillwater which easily handles such numbers. For those of you in Western Wisconsin, this is a great opportunity to get your kids some matches equal to your kid's ability.

Denmark High School and Denmark Wrestling Club is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment.
Each Wrestler must provide their own equipment. Headgear is recommended.
Any wrestler found in a restricted area, damaging property, creating a disturbance, or exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct will be disqualified and ask to leave the premises. Per school policy, no food or beverages will be allowed in gyms. No Smoking on school property.

All matches will consist of two one-minute periods. Each period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral
position. No score will be kept, and no pin will be called. If a wrestler is held on his back, the referee will stop the
match and both wrestlers will continue from their feet. Both wrestlers will have their hands raised at the end of the
match.
Grades K-2 Matches
All matches will consist of three one-minute periods. Each period will begin with both wrestlers in the neutral
position. OVERTIME: One period from the neutral position. The first person to score will be declared the winner.

Registration and Weigh ins: 4:00 – 5:00
Registration Protocol:
1. Pay the registration fee and fill out Registration and Waiver Form at the door.
2. Bring the form to the weigh-in area where the following information will be typed into the Trackwrestling website: Name, School, Grade, Weight, Skill Level (1-just starting to compete 2-has wrestled in the past, 3/4 good, 5-very good wrestler)
3 Confirm the information
4. Teams can fill out their information for one roster rather than individual waivers and information sheets then bring the team to the scale where weights will be registered.
Divisions: 6th, 7th, and 8th. NOTE: Although we will make every effort to keep 6th grade separate, these wrestlers may in some instances wrestle 7th graders. However, we will not wrestle 6th graders against 8th graders without coach or parental approval.
Wrestling Begins: approx. 5:30 Tournament Completion: approx. 9:00
Awards: Medals to 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Team Scoring: Each coach will indicate the 10 wrestlers that will score for the team. Teams can have more than one wrestler score at a weight so long as only 10 wrestlers are indicated as scoring points.
Points: 1st = 10 2nd = 6 3rd = 3
Team Trophies: Team trophies will be given to the top two tournament teams.
Entry Fees: Entry Fees: $60 for teams of 10 or more wrestlers.
$8 per wrestler for teams of 9 or less participants.
Wrestling Format: Four-man round robin. We will make every attempt to get all wrestlers three matches.
Wrestling Area: We will use three mat areas.
Refreshments: A concession stand will be available throughout the tournament.
First Responders: The first responders will be on site throughout the tournament.

The Black River Falls wrestling teams, coaches, and their parents will host a K-8 wrestling tournament on Saturday, January 31st. Please post the following information or pass it on to whoever is in charge of the youth programs. Attached is a waiver form that should be duplicated and given to any person who plans to participate. All wrestlers need to bring this completed waiver. Coaches please collect these and bring them as a group.
PLACE: Sam Young Gymnasium of the Black River Falls High School
TIME: REGISTRATION AND WEIGH-IN 8:30-9:00 (Note 1/2 hour only)
WRESTLING--Approximately 9:45
COST: $10.00 per wrestler. $90.00 per team (10 wrestlers). No USA Card required
Check’s payable to B.R.F. Wrestling
$2.00 for adult spectators and $1.00 for students.
COMPETITION: Choice of Competitive and Non-competitive Groups for K-2 wrestlers
K-2 match length – 1-1
A no headlock rule will be in effect for K-2
3rd through 8th grades will follow WIAA Rules
There will be a two-match guarantee. 3 or 4 person round-robin format will be used. Brackets will be by weight and grade when possible.
3rd – 8th grade match length 1-1-1, first score in the match will decide any ties.
DIVISIONS: All wrestlers will be given a group letter and will wrestle on the corresponding mat with the same letter: A = Non-competitive K-2 (wrestles on mat A)
B = Competitive K-2 (wrestles on mat B)
C = Grades 3-4 (wrestles on mat C)
D = Grades 5-6 (wrestles on mat D)
E = Grades 7-8 (wrestles on mat E)
CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be on hand the entire day thanks to the BRFWC Boosters.
ENTRY FORM: Every wrestler must fill out the waiver form. Form is included. Duplicate as needed. Do not fax or send form. You can register at the door, but the form must be signed by a parent or guardian.
